NATIONAL NURSING HOME WEEK
May 8-14, 2011
Fulfilling the Promise
The American Health Care Association (AHCA) announced its theme for the 2011 National Nursing Home Week (NNHW) observance: Fulfilling the Promise. National Nursing Home Week, sponsored by AHCA, will be celebrated in nursing and rehabilitation facilities nationwide, beginning Mother’s Day, May 8, and continuing through May 14, 2011. This year’s theme was selected to honor those who are “Fulfilling the Promise” by serving others, thus adding value to life and helping to overcome many of the infirmities of age and disability. .
Visit the AHCA website for more information about National Nursing Home Week
If you'd like to share your NNHW events on this website, please contact Kim. We'd love to know how others are celebrating!
National Nursing Home Week at Jaquith Nursing Home By Holly Haralson Activity Director Jaquith Nursing Home - Whitfield, MS
Our Iron Chef Jaquith competition in which each of our 10 buildings competed against one another was great. The cuisines were Polynesian, Asian, Southern, Italian, and Mexican. This was a great event because it brought the residents and the staff together. The camaraderie was just awesome!!
We awarded the winners of our scavenger hunt and our Iron Chef events, along with our "most enthusiastic inn" at our red beans and rice festival on Friday.
The pep rally on Monday was great too!!
