Mother Angeline McCrory Manor, Columbus OH, is looking for an enthusiastic, mission oriented individual to join its Recreational Therapy Department. This full-time position will focus on the development and evaluation our goal-based enrichment activities which are adaptive and responsive to the social, physical, emotional, and cognitive needs of each individual. This individual will be responsible for engaging our residents in therapeutic recreation such as reminiscence, music, horticulture, crafts, games, fitness, sensory stimulation groups and 1:1 interventions.

Love of the elderly is a must.
Computer skills and prior Recreational Therapy or Activities experience are a plus.
Must have some knowledge/experience working with individuals with dementia.
Must be able to work at least one night a week.
CTRS preferred (can be working towards certification)

SUMMARY:
In collaboration with the Director of Recreation Services and the Recreation team, implements daily programs that meet the needs of the population served with a focus on the population’s interest and abilities.
&#61558;    Set-up, implement and conduct large, small group and 1:1 recreation programs according to a monthly schedule (this includes out-of-home trips)
&#61558;    Motivate and encourage resident’s participation in programs and activities located throughout the community, including all amenities located throughout the Campuses
&#61558;    Provide individualized programs for residents with special needs.
&#61558;    Encourage and provide assistance to maintain individualized leisure interest/needs and provide supplies as needed

Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Valid New Jersey State Nurse Aide Certification, in good standing
Current New Jersey Driver’s License, in good standing
Minimum of one year experience in geriatrics


SCHEDULE
32 hours per week (Benefit Eligible)9am - 5pm includes weekend rotation.
