Recreation Coordinator - 32 hrs. per week (Benefit Eligible)
Francis Parker Memorial Home, offers adults a continuum of exceptional long-term care services, including residential nursing care and specialized memory care, assisted living and adult day health. We are a progressive, private, non-profit, Nursing Home & Assisted Living seeking a Recreation Coordinator to join our team.
To provide activities of a physical, social, mental, and spiritual, nature tailored to the individual abilities, needs and desires of the population in order to enable the Residents to enjoy the highest quality of life.
General responsibilities include:
Set-up, implement and conduct large, small group and 1:1 recreation programs according to a monthly schedule (this includes out-of-home trips);
Motivate and encourage the individual’s participation in programs and activities located throughout the community
Encourage and provide assistance to maintain individualized leisure interest/needs and provide supplies as needed ;
Complete initial assessments within 14 days of Resident's arrival and follow up documentation and as indicated
Provide reports regarding each residents’ participation in the program
B. A. or B. S. in Therapeutic Recreation, Creative Arts Therapy or in related field required or ADC;
Minimum 1 year experience in Long Term Care & Dementia Care
Working knowledge in Excel, Word, Power Point and related programs;
Drivers License in good standing; must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
Ability to move/lift/carry objects, approximately 25 to 75 and to occasionally assist in lifting or transferring residents weighing average 150 pounds;
Certification as an activity professional preferred

The Plaza Regency at Park Ridge (located in Bergen County, NJ) is seeking a full-time (37.5 hours per week) recreation assistant to oversee/implement activity programming for our residents with Alzheimer's/Dementia. Hours are 11:30 am - 7:30 pm with alternating weekends. Rate is $12.00 per hour with medical benefits. Applicant must have at least 1 year of LTC activity experience. PRN activities assistant needed to assist with programming for the senior population in long term care setting. Duties include, conducting group activities, room visits, assisting with meals, transportation to and from events. Schedule will include evening and weekend hours as well. Experience preferred but will train.
