 There's no time like the present to have fun with a team building activity. This is a great activity for staff, residents, family and friends!
- Make up bags of gumdrops and toothpicks with a note that says - "Please do not eat me”.
- Divide the teams into groups of 2 to 6.
- Give each group 20 gumdrops and 12 toothpicks. (this can vary)
- The object is to build some sort of structure. Instruct each group to build a dome, bridge, tower or whatever they want to build. It could be a tall structure, a center piece for the table, the longest structure, most creative, etc. It’s up to the leader to set the guidelines. If teams join together, they can build bigger structures!
- Of course, you can modify this in many ways. For residents, you may want to use the larger gumdrops and thicker toothpicks. Please be sure to monitor closely and be aware of all precautions.
- This activity can also be done with little marshmallows instead of gumdrops, just be sure to have wipes or access to a hand washing area.
